Renowned Star Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Recognized For Parts in Seinfeld and The Middle, Has Died at Age 60.
Stateside performer Pat Finn, who featured in popular programs such as Friends, Seinfeld and "The Middle", has died at 60 years old.
The skilled improv artist passed away at his residence in Los Angeles on Monday following cancer treatment since 2022, as reported by reports.
"Pat Finn saw everyone as a friend - only friends he had yet to meet," his relatives said in a statement.
They added that he had "embraced life completely - with happiness and energy".
An Extensive Television Career
His initial on-screen part was on the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he played the titular character's brother.
He also had a regular part on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.
He appeared as the character Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in the late 90s, playing a host known to delegate tedious tasks to his guests.
During the 90s and 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on numerous hit series, like:
- King of Queens
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- House
His most famous role for playing Bill Norwood in "The Middle", featuring across eight series from 2011 to 2018.
His cinematic roles encompass It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
A Life in Improv
Beyond his on-screen roles, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.
He was involved with a six-person improv troupe known as Beer Shark Mice.
"Pat coached, befriended and mentored many learners throughout the years and it's nearly impossible to find anyone anywhere who has an unkind word to say about him," his relatives stated.
Offering condolences, fellow actor actor Richard Kind said there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Consistently upbeat, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A wonderful father and man," he shared publicly.
Pat Finn is survived by his spouse Donna, his three kids, and his parents and siblings.
