Netflix Chooses Ideal Star for Mr. 2 in One Piece Season 3

The Secret Organization is geared up to make a major impact in the next installment of Netflix’s show of One Piece, although the true confrontation won’t unfold until season 3, and a cherished, fan-favorite member has recently been selected.

Netflix announced this week that the skilled actor will appear in the One Piece season 3 cast and will play Bon Clay. This character has the ability to transform into an identical duplicate of anyone they’ve touched with their dominant hand. The performer, who is gender non-conforming and goes by they/them, will play a version of that figure reinterpreted as gender non-binary, rather than as a drag queen, in the live-action show, as in the source material and cartoon version.

Escola joins several other recently announced actors tasked with bringing Baroque Works to life, such as leader Mr. 0, brought to life by the well-known actor, a talented actress as a key member, and an accomplished actor, who is also part of the ensemble as the ruler of the fictional land.

Even though this character is a key figure of the organization, the individual won’t make their debut One Piece the third season. With season 2 likely to portray the Little Garden segment, this marks a significant shift in the timing of the character’s debut, one that could signal additional alterations to the plot development.

Their mix of excellent comedic sense and profound feeling makes them a standout choice for the part. Besides their recent voice performance in the animated feature Boys Go to Jupiter, they received high praise and several accolades for penning and acting in the successful stage production Oh Mary!, showcasing the adaptability they’ll contribute to one of One Piece’s highly regarded figures.

The streaming service’s real-life One Piece series is scheduled to come back for its second season on March 10th, 2026.
